I have been evaluating my Ubuntu 10.04 installation for the past week now. I have been dabbling in ubuntu since ver 8 but only recently have I really gotten into it. And it would be a lie to say I am pleasantly surprised.
I was scared to partition my trusted Vista laptop because I didn’t want to mess it up and then be vistaless, but I found that installing ubuntu via Wubi (which installs ubuntu like any other windows application and only adds the ubuntu boot up int the windows MBR (master boot record)) was a breeze. Only problem is this kind of an install has a performance reduction compared to installing ubuntu on its own partition.
So now am on to the next task of finding suitable replacements for my windows apps
